After several days of emotional performances and beautiful music, the last recording of Afua Asantewaa Aduonum’s incredible sing-a-thon attempt has been turned in for evaluation.
In an interview with Graphic Online, Afua Asantewaa, the Ghanaian woman who tried to break the Guinness World Record for the longest sing-a-thon, disclosed that she has submitted the last piece of evidence for review and confirmation.
She said that the evidence was turned in on Saturday, January 6, 2024, and that she expected a positive answer in the next few days.
Recall that Afua began her musical journey on Sunday, December 24, 2023, captivating Ghanaians and showcasing her vocal abilities in a marathon of soulful renditions.
Mrs. Asantewaa Aduonum surpassed Indian Sunil Waghmare’s 2012 record of 105 hours by singing for 126 hours and 52 minutes.
Although she had originally stated that the attempt would require 117 hours of work, the exercise continued until the wee hours of the sixth day, at which point she decided to call it quits.
