Joyce Randolph was an American actress best known for her role as Trixie Norton on the television sitcom The Honeymooners. Born in Detroit, Michigan, Randolph began her acting career at the Wayne University Workshop and later worked in retail sales for a Saks Fifth Avenue store. She auditioned for Stage Door’s touring company and performed for the rest of the tour.

In 1943, she moved to New York City and pursued acting, taking roles on Broadway and landing various television roles. In 1951, she was seen in a Clorets commercial by Jackie Gleason and asked to appear in a skit on Cavalcade of Stars. Soon after, she was cast as Trixie in The Honeymooners.

Randolph initially portrayed Trixie in skits on The Jackie Gleason Show and The Honeymooners, which included Jackie Gleason as Ralph Kramden, Art Carney as Ed Norton, Audrey Meadows as Alice Kramden, and Randolph as Thelma “Trixie” Norton. However, she did not portray Trixie Norton in Honeymooner’s revivals due to personal and geographic reasons.

On Broadway, Randolph appeared in Ladies Night in a Turkish Bath (1950). After becoming identified with the Norton character, she seldom found other parts and directors would say they couldn’t use her. She performed in summer stock musicals, made commercials, and had a few guest appearances on television shows, including her reprisal of Trixie Norton in the 1991 episode “Fur Flies” in Hi Honey, I’m Home!
