“I’ll Be In Mask For The Rest Of My Career” – Victor Osimhen Reveals (Video)
Forward Victor Osimhen of Napoli has stated that, for safety concerns, he will have to wear a mask for the remainder of his career.
As everyone knows, on November 21, 2021, during a Serie A match between Napoli and Inter Milan, Osimhen got into a head-on collision with Milan Skriniar, which resulted in a serious face injury.
He wore a protective mask as he recovered from his injuries, and Azzurri supporters have come to associate it with him.
Osimhen, who is in Ivory Coast for the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) with the Super Eagles, stated in an interview with Brilla FM that playing without a mask puts him at risk.
He said that during his most recent game against Cagliari, the opposition’s goalie struck his face, leaving him with blood on his face even with the mask on.
“I have screws that go through my jaws and face, so I will have to wear the mask for the remainder of my career. I still possess them now,” he remarked.
When I headed the ball in the last game I played against Cagliari, blood was all over my face, even through the mask. The goalie also struck me in the face.
“Therefore, it is obviously very risky for me to play without a mask.”
