Following Ghana’s heartbreaking elimination from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, midfielder Mohammed Kudus found himself at a loss for words as he spoke to the supporters who had supported the squad.
Mozambique stunned Ghana with two late goals, both of which were from penalties awarded to Jordan Ayew.
Following a thrilling 2-2 tie with Mozambique, Mohammed Kudus, the energetic West Ham midfielder, was named the game’s top performer during a post-match interview.
“I am out of words. I don’t know what to say. Thanks to the fans for the support,” he said after the game, where he was named man of the match.
This individual recognition, though, brought little solace as Kudus, clearly affected, thanked the devoted fans who stuck with the club through good times and bad.
