“Marriage Has Lost Its Real Value” – Wutah Kobby

In a contentious interview on Property FM in Cape Coast, Ghanaian artist Wutah Kobby said that, in his opinion alone, people would prefer to be in casual relationships than married.

The 41-year-old former member of Wutah claims that the reason more people are divorcing these days is because marriage has lost its meaning and significance.

“I think left to me alone, people should not marry,” he remarked, acknowledging that it was a highly delicate subject and that what he was going to say would not make him very popular.

People ought to have friendships and connections of various kinds since, in my opinion, love is something that may be attained rather than something that is done.

Because of the richness of your emotions, if you’re loving within, you can look at everything with love. Sadly, the institution of marriage, which is meant to unite two people in their quest for self-improvement, has instead turned into a dependency-type relationship.

“It has become less valuable because it drains a lot of people, but people in casual relationships stay together longer than people in marriages,” he said to Amansan Krakye.
