“Shatta Wale Is Just Some Local Bragging Champion, Nothing Better” – Sally Mann

Declared dancehall king Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., also known as Shatta Wale, came under fire from outspoken entertainment critic Sally Mann for bragging about his fortune.

Mann accused Wale of being financially challenged, saying he only gets low-budget engagements, and called him an “empty barrel” who survives on needless noise.


Mann continued to claim that Shatta Wale could only play for local crowds, bringing up Nima Boys and Girls in particular, implying that his financial situation prevented him from performing in larger settings.

Sally Mann said, “You are a broke ass musician; you don't have money yet you brag; you only host small shows; your colleagues in the industry are doing big shows; all you know is brag.”

Mann compared Shatta Wale's circumstances to those of emerging singer Black Sherif, praising him for his rapid rise in the entertainment business and pointing out that he even made it to the BET Awards.

“You are bragging about being the local champion, but Black Sherif is doing big things.”
