Asamoah Gyan named member of Bawumia’s manifesto committee
Asamoah Gyan, a renowned former captain of the Black Stars, has been added to the manifesto committee of NPP flagbearer Mahamudu Bawumia.
The committee members’ names were revealed late last night in a press release issued by Bawumia’s campaign team’s director of communications.
In the “Youth and Sports” area, Gyan will oversee committee operations.
His official statement comes after he made a suggestion on social media earlier today, urging other sports legends to help make sports more engaging and pleasurable for young people.
In the history of the competition, Gyan is the highest goal scorer from Africa and has played for Ghana in three FIFA World Cups.
Resigned majority leader in parliament, Osei-Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu is the manifesto committee chairman, while Kojo Oppong Nkrumah is the vice chairman.
Dan Botwe will be heading the vice president’s Campaign Strategy team, whereas J.A. Kufour and Nana Akufo-Addo will be members of the Advisory Committee.
