Ketu North, Ghana – The Ketu North Red Cross Office is set to launch a 6-month campaign to address the rising cases of HIV/AIDS and mental health issues in the district. The campaign aims to educate a targeted population of 15-25 years old on HIV/AIDS awareness and mental health.
According to Noble Kofi Avettey, Municipal Organizer of Ketu North Red Cross, “We are determined to make a positive impact in our community. Our goal is to provide education, support, and resources to those affected by HIV/AIDS and mental health issues.”
Key highlights of the campaign include:
HIV/AIDS awareness and education
Mental health education and counseling
Mental health campaign to promote wellbeing and support
The Red Cross is partnering with the Ketu North Health Directorate, Education Directorate, Tanko Foundation, Volta Region Red Cross, and opinion leaders to achieve this project. According to the Volta Regional HIV/AIDS report for 2023, a total of 1126 cases were recorded, with 533 individuals not receiving treatment. This alarming trend necessitates our intervention.
To ensure the success of this campaign, we urgently need financial support from companies and individuals to come on board and support us. Your contribution will help us provide vital resources and services to those in need, he added.
