I’ll love Amakye Dede all my life – Kuami Eugene

Ghanaian Award-winning highlife artiste, Kuami Eugene, has opened up about his relationship with Highlife legend, Amakye Dede. 

It will be remembered that Amakye Dede in an interview, disclosed that he was forced to crown Kuami Eugene ‘King of Highlife’ for the next generation. 

“Although I did that [crowned him], it was not my will to do that but they forced me to crown the boy. That’s the reason I did that,” he said.

“Even the crown they gave to me to put on his head, I gave it to someone to place it somewhere. But later, they gave it back to me to adorn him with it,” Amakye Dede further stated in the interview.

Speaking on Drobo-based radio station, Anidaso FM Kuami Euegene indicated that the position of the legend has not soiled their relationship.

He explained that there is no way he can “beef” with Amakye Dede who has been in the industry for years and has a wealth of experience adding that he is even older than him to disrespect him.

“Amakye Dede is Amakye Dede and I will love Amakye Dede for the rest of my life. He has made a very good impact in the music industry. I can say that there is no bad blood. He is too old for me to beef with him or question him for his position he expresses,” he said.
