I sometimes rush out of the bathroom for music ideas – Kuami Eugene

Kuami Eugene

Ghanaian artist, Kuami Eugene, also referred to as the Rockstar, has revealed interesting details about his personal and professional life, especially his unusual approach to creative.

When Eugene talked about his morning ritual, it was one of the highlights of the interview.

“I wake up early, around 5:30 AM,” he explained, adding a touch of humour to the revelation.

“The first thing I do is head straight to the bathroom. That’s where most of my creative inspiration strikes me.” He disclosed on Accra-based Hitz Fm.

He went on to share his unique setup: “I’ve installed speakers in my bathroom, so I can listen to my music on repeat while I shower. It really helps me refine my work before I finalize anything.”

Andy Dosty, intrigued by this creative ritual, couldn’t help but express his surprise.

“Speakers in the bathroom? That’s a first for me!” he exclaimed. Kuame Eugene smiled, acknowledging that many of his fellow musicians are often taken aback when they discover his built-in studio at home.

“You should see their faces when they realize I’m serious about my music everywhere, even in the shower!” he laughed.

The conversation took an interesting turn when Dosty inquired whether Eugene listens to music from his peers. “Of course!” the Rockstar confirmed enthusiastically.

“I enjoy all genres of music, and it greatly influences my own music-making process.

Listening to others helps me evolve as an artist.”

Eugene elaborated on how his bathroom sessions are often more than just a space for inspiration; they are a breeding ground for creativity.

“Sometimes, I’ll be in the shower and get an idea for a song.

” I’ve even rushed out of the bathroom in the nude just to record a spontaneous thought!” he admitted, his candour eliciting laughter from both Dosty and the audience.
