Ghanaian musician Kuami Eugene, has shared the remarkable story behind the creation of his hit track “Adwenfi,” revealing that the entire process took only twenty minutes.
Kuami Eugene in an interview with Andy Dosty on Hitz FM, recounted how the inspiration struck him almost instantaneously after he crafted the beat for the song. “I was in the studio, feeling this incredible energy,” he explained. “Once I had the beat down, the words just flowed. It was as if the song was waiting to be born.”
When Andy Dosty pressed him on the speed of his songwriting, Kuami Eugene credited his inspiration to a track by fellow artist Okyeame Kwame. “Listening to Okyeame Kwame’s beat ignited something in me,” he said. “I felt the need to create my own version, something fresh and unique.”
Once he finished his part, he didn’t hesitate to involve other talents. “After I laid down my vocals, I reached out to Shatta Wale because I wanted to bring his vibe into the mix. Collaborating with him was important for me,” he noted, emphasizing the value of teamwork in the music industry.
“Adwenfi” has since become a staple in Ghanaian music, celebrated for its catchy rhythm and heartfelt lyrics. Kuami Eugene’s ability to compose such a popular track in a short amount of time speaks to his talent and dedication to his craft.
