Even the nominees for the 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards have not yet been decided, but Ghanaian artist Amerado has put himself into the debate regarding who would win Artiste of the Year.
The 2025 Telecel Ghana Music Awards call for nominations has been preceded by the question of who would win Artiste of the Year.
The dispute has also brought up the names of other artists, including Kofi Kinaata, Fameye, Stonebwoy, Team Eternity Ghana, DopeNation, King Paluta, and King Promise.
The ‘Kwaku Ananse’ hitmaker shared a post of his activities in the year 2024 with the caption: “Amerado in 2024, Artiste Of The Year conversation without Amerado under the 2024 year of Review is an exposure of ignorance and consequently brutal to the industry and upcoming ones.”
“The Artiste of the Year is the Artiste(s) judged by the Academy, Board, and the General Public as the artist with the highest audience appeal and popularity in the year under review,” states the description of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards. The artist or artists must be among the most nominated in the year in question and must have published a successful single, EP, or album.
Nomination for this year’s Artiste of the Year category will be based on the aforementioned criteria unless the TGMA Board modifies the category description.
