“Election Dates Should Be Moved To November Or Mid-Year” – Bullgod

Entertainment commentator and artist manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bullgod, has recommended to the Electoral Commission that the election date be moved from December.

According to him, the exercise has an impact on creative events and investments around the holiday season because most diaspora members are afraid to travel because of the possibility of violence, he stated on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning show.

In contrast to past years, most event planners make an attempt to host events following the elections, although they ultimately incur losses due to reduced attendance.

“I believe that changing the election date is one of the things we should think about. Last year, there was a rumor that they planned to place it in November. Therefore, I believe we can achieve it in November, just like the Americas, or even earlier. Why don’t we? It’s only a day. The impact it has on investment is the reason. A significant amount of revenue is generated during that period.

Regarding if it would have an impact on the transition process, the analyst stated that constitutional amendments may be introduced to direct the process and establish a new date for the handover to the new administration.

The conventional method of doing things has changed, and politicians must adapt to keep up with the times, he stated, adding that Ghana cannot continue to remain mired in the past.
