James Kwesi Appiah, the head coach of the Sudanese national team, has declared Asamoah Gyan, a former captain of the Black Stars, the finest player he has ever coached.
During his tenure with the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah coached Asamoah Gyan, who was appointed captain in 2013 ahead of Sulley Ali Muntari and Michael Essien.
When asked who among the players he oversaw was the best, Kwesi Appiah immediately brought up Asamoah Gyan without hesitation.
Additionally, he listed Kumasi’s Baba Yara Sports Stadium as his favorite sports venue in the nation.
During his two periods with the Black Stars, Kwesi Appiah played from 2012 to 2014 and again from 2017 until 2020.
