Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III, the Krontihene of Akyem Asuom, who recently expressed his disappointment in Akufo Addo, has again slammed the former president over his behaviour and body language at President Mahama’s inauguration on January 7, 2025, at the Black Stars Square.
In an exclusive chat with GhOne TV, Nana Boadi Amponim Obodade III shared his thoughts on the inauguration, specifically taking aim at Akufo-Addo.
According to him, Akufo-Addo looked out of place in his seat, seemingly accustomed to occupying the presidential chair.
He continued, stating that over the past eight years, President Akufo-Addo had behaved as if the Ghanaian presidency was his personal property, bought with his own hard-earned money, when in fact it belongs to the entire nation.
The controversial traditional ruler recounted how Akufo-Addo had been moving around with the presidential seat, accompanied by heavily armed men who were willing to lay down their lives to protect it.
As he concluded his speech, the chief expressed his delight at Mahama’s election as the new President of the Republic of Ghana, making pointed references to Akufo-Addo’s administration over the past few years.
