A Plus Threatens To Sermon Ghana Police Service To Parliament If They Don’t Update Us On Ahmed Suale’s Murder Case in 48 Hours

"I Now Understand Why Parliamentarians Used Sirens" - A Plus After Few Days In Parliament

Updates on the murder inquiry of Ahmed Suale, a journalist killed in 2019, have been strongly demanded by Kwame Asare-Obeng, also known as A Plus, the member of parliament for the Gomoa Central seat.

A Plus said on social media that he was asked to visit the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) headquarters last year, where he gave crucial case-related information.

He says that he has identified a former government minister who allegedly hired attackers to do the crime.

In a meeting with the CID director, he also revealed his source, which he called “highly credible,” according to A Plus.

A Plus called on the CID director to provide the public with an update on the case’s status, including if further time is needed to wrap up the probe, and voiced displeasure over the investigation’s lack of progress, implying that the issue seemed to have been neglected.

In his own words, he wrote:

Last year, I was invited to the CID headquarters to provide information regarding the murder of Ahmed Suale. During the meeting, I identified a high-profile minister from the previous government who was allegedly involved in contracting assailants to carry out the crime. I also disclosed my source, a highly credible one, in the presence of the CID director.

It is critical that the CID director updates the public on the progress of the investigation and indicates with justification whether additional time is required. At this point, it appears the matter has been sidelined.

If no update is provided within 48 hours, I will invoke my authority as a Member of Parliament to formally summon the Ghana Police Service to brief Parliament on this case. Should that fail, I will utilize my Facebook and other social media platforms to update the nation on what I know about the matter which shall include the name of the alleged perpetrator.
