Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin stirred reactions in Parliament with a remark directed at MPs awaiting government appointments.

Addressing disruptions in the House, he Alexander Afenyo-Markinstated, “If you think you can be making noise, your government business will be delayed.

Those who make noise have not been nominated yet. Those who don’t make noise have been nominated.”

His comments appeared to mock some members who were vocal during proceedings, implying that a quieter approach could yield better political rewards.

The statement sparked reactions, with some MPs taking it as lighthearted banter while others viewed it as a sharp critique of their conduct.

Afenyo-Markin, however, maintained that parliamentary business should be conducted in an orderly manner, emphasizing that progress required discipline and cooperation. “The approach is not the best,” he remarked, urging MPs to focus on efficiency rather than unnecessary interruptions.
