“I’m The Most Complete Player In Football History” – Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo

Although he respects supporters who would rather watch Lionel Messi, Pelé, or Diego Maradona, Cristiano Ronaldo has proclaimed himself “the most complete player to have existed.” Statistics validate his assertion.

The 39-year-old five-time Ballon d’Or winner is the highest-scoring player in men’s football history with 923 goals, and he owns many more records. In Monday’s 4-0 AFC Champions League victory over Al Wasl, he scored two of his most recent goals.

Which goal scorer in history is the best? Numbers are at the center. “Complete stop,” Ronaldo said in a lengthy interview on Monday with the Spanish television program El Chiringuito.

Which of the greatest goal scorers in history has used their head, left foot, penalties, or free kicks? I was researching the other day, and even though I’m not left-footed, I rank among the top 10 left-footed goal scorers in history. In addition, I use my head, right foot, and penalties. Every one of them.

Throughout his career, Ronaldo has been frequently compared to Messi, who is vying for the title of best of all time.

“I’m talking about numbers,” Ronaldo said. “I think I’m the most complete player to have existed. In my opinion, I think it’s me. I do everything well in football: with my head, free kicks, and left foot. I’m fast; I’m strong.

“One thing is taste—if you like Messi, Pelé, or Maradona, I understand that, and I respect that—but saying Ronaldo isn’t complete… I’m the most complete. I haven’t seen anybody better than me, and I say it from the heart.”

“I’m so competitive that sometimes I forget what I’ve achieved,” he said. “Because it gives me motivation to do more and do better every year … I think that’s the difference with others. Somebody else in my position would have left football 10 years ago. I’m different, full stop.”
