Fameye has angered Ghanaian musician Ama Nova, who won Artiste of the Year at the Western Music Awards, over allegations of an unmet contract.
In an interview with DJ Slim on Daybreak Hitz, Nova shared her dissatisfaction with Fameye for not promoting their joint song on his social media accounts despite having paid him to do so.
In order to assist the song’s release, Fameye shared her artwork as part of the original agreement, Nova said. But Fameye didn’t publish anything about the song.
“According to the original agreement, it would have been good if he had shared my artwork so that it would appear that you support the release.”
“Many folks have DM’d me to say they visited Fameye’s page but didn’t see him post about the song. It’s heartbreaking and difficult for me,” Nova remarked.
She also complained that the song’s release was delayed. The song had to be published around two weeks ago, even though its original release date was October of last year.
The singer said that after reaching an agreement on a sum of money to be paid to Fameye, he posted about the song on social media and offered his services for the video. However, efforts to get in touch with him later to fulfill his end of the agreement were unsuccessful.
“We agreed on an amount that includes a music video and paid the said amount.
There was no written contract, but there are conversations and WhatsApp chats that show that this transaction went on. There is a receipt that shows that the money was paid,” she said.
