Daniel McKorley, the Executive Chairman of the McDan Group and a well-known Ghanaian businessman, has disclosed that he put off getting married because he was afraid of having financial responsibilities.

“I couldn’t marry early because I was afraid of chop money,” he stated. “I grew up in an atmosphere where it was common to witness a guy physically assault a woman due to chop money, as well as a woman verbally abuse a man for the same reason. Therefore, I found the institution of marriage to be frightening.”
Revealing that Dorothy, his ex-girlfriend, left him because he was unable to find enough time for her.
“I couldn’t find enough time, so she left me in the book. I always arrived at work first and left last. Every time I came to visit, I would be asleep, and we would be talking,” he remembered.
He also discussed a pivotal point in his career, describing how his desire for achievement and growing responsibility drove him to put in even more effort.
“I was driving a Fiat Ritmo when I earned my first million dollars. The automobile I drove would run short of fuel every two kilometers, even if I had a million dollars in my account. I didn’t see that I had enough, though,” he added.
