Nigerian boxer, Gabriel Oluwasegun Olanrewagu has tragically passed away after suffering a fatal seizure, during a boxing match against Ghana’s John Mbanugu, at the Bukom Boxing Arena last night.
The bout, which was part of the Street 2 Champions Amateur Tournament, saw Olanrewagu face off against Ghanaian fighterJohn Mbanugu.
During the match, Olanrewagu endured a series of powerful punches from his opponent before suddenly losing consciousness and collapsing in the ring.
Match officials immediately rushed to his aid and performed CPR in an attempt to revive him but was to no avail.
