“Wontumi’s 50m Bail Surety Excludes My ‘Rock City Hotel” – Bryan Acheampong Reveals Using A Few Houses He Owned To Bail Chairman Wontumi

Dr. Bryan Acheampong, the Abetifi member of parliament, has acknowledged that he is working to secure bail for Chairman Wontumi, also known as Bernard Antwi Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP.
According to the former state minister, the necessary legalities to complete the bail procedure are now being addressed.
“We recently finished inspecting the properties. The officials will next need to confirm their worth in order to ascertain whether they are eligible for bail,” he stated.
He has provided properties to help the process, according to Dr. Acheampong, who is predicted to be among the front-runners in the contest to head the NPP in the 2028 elections. He clarified that this is a typical gesture and that he has no idea what it means to be “rich.”
In the meantime, Mr. Antwi-Boasiko has retracted his application to have his bail terms reviewed.
The hearing for the motion, which was submitted to the Accra High Court on May 30, 2025, was set for Tuesday, June 3.
On Monday, June 2, the legal team did, however, formally withdraw the motion before the hearing.
Through his attorneys, Chairman Wuntomi had contested the GH¢50 million bond set by the Economic and Organized Crime Office (EOCO), claiming that it was exorbitant and seemed to be intended to prevent his release.
According to Justice Srem-Sai, the Deputy Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Chairman Wontumi is being investigated for a number of significant criminal offenses, including money laundering, fraud, and inflicting financial harm on the state.
