Paying tithe doesn’t mean a pastor should follow you to your funeral- Nana Agradaa

Ghanaian evangelist Nana Agradaa, widely known as Evangelist Tupac, has pushed back against claims that paying tithe places a burden on pastors to solve members’ problems.
In a viral video circulating online, the former fetish priestess, dressed in an all-white outfit, addressed the ongoing public debate around tithing and its role in the church.
She argued that many Ghanaians hold wrong beliefs about tithe. According to her, these misconceptions have shaped how people view both the practice and church leadership.
Agradaa made it clear that tithe is a personal spiritual obligation. She said it is strictly between the individual and God, not the pastor. She stressed that pastors are not the beneficiaries of tithe as many assume.
Speaking in the video, she explained that her ministry does not pressure members to give. She cited her church, Heavenway Champion International Ministry, as an example where giving is voluntary.
“I watched videos last night where there was a debate on tithe. One thing is clear, tithe is not for the pastor. It belongs to Jesus Christ. When you come to our church, no one is forced to pay,” she stated.
She also addressed expectations tied to giving. She warned church members against believing that paying tithe entitles them to favors from pastors or church leaders.
Her comments add to the growing conversation on religion, money, and accountability in Ghana’s church space.
