Ghanaian dancehall songstress AK Songstress has expressed her deep gratitude to Kuami Eugene for going above and beyond to promote her popular Jonathan song.
The singer, composer, and Dancehall expert spoke with Graphic Showbiz about the song’s success on digital platforms, as well as Africa’s most populous country, Nigeria.
She also praised Kuame Eugene for urging Ghanaians to unite behind her new track, which she described as “massive.”
“There is room for good music in Nigeria, and if your music ‘blows’ there, it’s a big plus,” AK Songstress said. They have the numbers, so standing out is difficult, and I feel you can only do that if your sound is good. Nigeria is popular in Africa, therefore I’m glad my song is popular there.”
Jonathan has attracted attention in Nigeria, and AK Songstress is confident that he would do so in Ghana as well. “I believe it will be successful in Ghana as well.” In reality, it is happening gradually, which I am grateful for. I’d want to use this opportunity to express my gratitude to Kuami Eugene for his help.
“I’m not sure why he did what he did,” my manager said, “but my manager emailed me a message that Kuami Eugene had placed on his social media accounts urging Ghanaians to support me, and I’m thankful to him and everyone who has helped me.”
