I Lack Courage When I Was Growing Up, I Became Hard When My Parent Left Me For Greece At Age 10 – Black Sherif
Black Sherif has spoken candidly about the difficulties he encountered as a youngster when his mother abandoned him to live with his father in Greece.
According to him, the effects of this separation formed his mentality and strengthened his resolve to face challenges.
In a conversation with Okay Africa, the “Kweku Frimpong” hitmaker reflected on his youth in the active Konongo Zongo village and shared a stirring tale of resiliency and victory.
He admitted, “I didn’t have a constant home after my mom left.”
He said in the magazine story that he was quite shy as a child and was shielded by his mother, which forced him to deal with the difficulties of living in a neighborhood he thought was “crazy.”
“When I was growing up with my mom, I used to be quite shy. The individuals in my neighborhood were just insane. I would hear her say, “Don’t go outside.” We are not like these folks, you know,” he stated in reference to his upbringing.
Black Sherif‘s mother leaving him behind to go live with his father in Greece was a turning point in his young life. The gap she left behind exposed him to fresh difficulties and weaknesses.
He experienced bullying and a sense of loneliness since he lacked parental direction and protection.
In order to handle the harsh realities he experienced at the time, he felt the need to adapt and accept a certain amount of chutzpah.
