Ghanaian highlife and Afrobeats musician Kuami Eugene revealed that he is the composer of many of the nation’s biggest songs but has not been given credit for them.
In a yet to be aired interview with Kojo Manuel, Kuami Eugene claimed that has yet to appear that he helped write some of the top songs in Ghana but hasn’t gotten recognition or even a dime from the artists whose songs he wrote successes for.
“It’s not fair, they don’t think he’ll let it go, yeah and more people take do me, there are many hits in the country and the people really made money out of it but u didn’t even have 1 cedi but I wrote the hook,” he said.
According to Kuami Eugene, he was young and emerging in the music industry so there are some songs he did out of love for few artists, but he believes it is time for the people to pay their dues.
“And some of them know and it’s not fair, I was emerging so it’s understandable and I wrote some of them out of love, like I am obsessed with this Celebrity I do it but right I’m in my seventh year in the industry, you’re still trying to dupe,” he added.
