I Never Thought Of A Day That Kenkey Would Be 5 Cedis – Tic

Rapper Nana Kwaku Duah, better known as Tic, has bemoaned the high expense of living in his nation, which has forced him to forgo buying several meals he used to.

Since Kenkey is one of his family’s most beloved foods, he voiced his shock at learning that it now costs GH5, which forced him and his home to quit buying it.

In his lifetime, kenkey was among the least expensive foods, and the hip-hop artist admitted that he had no idea the cost would increase to such a degree.

Tic voiced concern over the declining fortunes of the Ghanaian economy and lamented the present price of coconut, which is Gh5.

He made this remark in response to the economic crisis the nation is currently experiencing, which has led to an increase in the number of protests and angry citizen rants on social media as a means of expressing citizens’ grievances with the administration.

Honestly I and my household love kenkey, but now we don’t buy it that often because a ball of kenkey is now GH¢5. I never imagined this day will come whereby kenkey, one of the cheapest food in my lifetime will cost that much. Can you imagine one coconut is now GH¢5 too. This is the reality,” Tic wrote on his Twitter page.
