Oasis legends, the Gallagher brothers, Liam and Noel Gallagher. Noel, the eldest, was the chief songwriter, lead guitarist, and secondary vocalist of the rock band Oasis and Liam, the lead vocalist of the band from 1991 until their split in 2009.

The British rock band, Oasis originally known as Rain, consisted they split of four members, Liam, Paul, McGuiga ‘ and Tony McCarroll. Noel joined the band in 1993, and became the fifth member.  

They signed to Creation Records in 1993 and released their debut album Definitely Maybe in 1994, which became the fastest-selling debut album in British history.

The following year, they recorded (What's the Story) Morning Glory?, which became one of the best-selling albums of all time and the fifth-best-selling album in the UK. Oasis performed at Knebworth in 1996 and released their third album, Be Here Now, in 1997. The group disbanded in 2009 after Noel Gallagher's departure.

Liam is 56 years old and he is considered one of the most successful songwriters in British music history, having written eight UK number-one singles and co-writing a further number-on.

Gallagher joined Oasis on the condition that he would take creative control and become its sole songwriter and lead guitarist. The band's debut album, Definitely Maybe, was a commercial success, followed by their second album, Morning Glory?, and their third studio album, Be Here Now.

Despite the decline of Britpop, Oasis failed to revive it, with their final two albums, Don't Believe the Truth and Dig Out Your Soul, being hailed as their best efforts in over a decade. In August 2009, Gallagher announced his departure from Oasis, forming Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, with whom he has released four studio albums.

 Gallagher was often regarded as a pioneer and spearhead of the Britpop movement, with his songwriting being praised by Beatles producer George Martin.
