Born on April 25, 1940, in East Harlem, Manhattan, New York City, Alfredo James Pacino is a renowned American actor. He was born to a Sicilian parents Salvatore Pacino and Rose Gelardi. His father was a Sicilian immigrant who worked as a bricklayer and his mother, Rose was a seamstress.

Al Pacino has achieved great success from his career and considered one of the greatest and most influential actors of the 20^th century. Grew up in New York City, Pacino attended the High School of Performing Arts in New York City, and after graduating, he also enrolled in the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. However, he dropped out after two years to pursue a professional acting career.

He developed the passion for acting at a young age, where he made began his acting career in the early 1960s, appearing in off-Broadway productions. He also made his Broadway debut in 1969 in the play Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie?, for which he also  won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play.

In the 1972 film The Godfather, Pacino played Michael Corleone, which was his breakout role. Pacino received widespread recognition for his performance, and the movie was a critical and financial triumph. For his work, he received an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor.
