Bradley Kevin Marchand is a Canadian professional ice hockey left winger and captain for the Boston Bruins. Born in 1988 in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, Kevin Marchand was a talented ice hockey player who began playing at the age of two. He developed an aggressive playing style and struggled with temper throughout his childhood.

As his hockey career progressed, he sought help from a sport psychologist. Marchand became close friends with future NHL player Andrew Bodnarchuk and played for his school team. He gained a reputation for taking penalties and riling opponents, leading to intense rivalries with his Cole Harbour rivals and his larger teammate.

He played for three junior ice hockey teams before being drafted by the Boston Bruins in 2006. Marchand made his NHL debut in 2009 and helped the Bruins win the 2011 Stanley Cup Finals.

However, the Bruins struggled in the 2012-13 season, with a lockout and two consecutive playoff misses. Marchand's reputation for suspensions and rule-breaking behavior continued in the 2021-22 season, with nine games suspended, becoming the most suspended player in NHL history.
