Bruce Bochy,68, is an American former professional baseball player and manager, best known for managing the San Francisco Giants to three World Series championships in 2010, 2012, and 2014.

Born in Landes de Boussac, France in 1955 and spend his formative years in Melbourne , Florida. He began playing baseball at a young age and excelled at Melbourne High School, where he was a teammate of Darrell Hammond.

Bochy was also a talented basketball player and was offered a scholarship to play college basketball but chose to pursue a career in baseball.

Bochy attended Brevard Community College in Cocoa Beach, Florida, where he played baseball for two years and led the team to a state championship in his sophomore year.

He was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the third round of the 1975 MLB draft and made his MLB debut in 1978. He played for the Padres, New York Mets, and Houston Astros, and was known for his defensive skills and ability to handle pitchers.

Bochy began his managing career with the San Diego Padres in 1995, leading them to the playoffs in 1996 and 1998 but losing in the first round.

He was fired by the Padres after the 2006 season. He was hired as the manager of the San Francisco Giants in 2007, and led them to their first World Series championship since 1954.  He retired from managing after the 2019 season with a record of 2003 wins and 1821 losses.
