Aidan O’Connell Personal Life
Born on September 1, 1998, Aidan O’Connell is widely recognized as an American football quarterback for the Las Vegas Raiders of the NFL. He is presently, 25 years old.
Born in Long Grove, Illinois in the United States, Aidan developed a passion for football at a young age. He began playing football and basketball for Stevenson High School. He managed to gain a scholarship offer from Davenport University. In 2017, O’Connell committed to Wheaton College but later joined Purdue. He played in six games in 2019 and started three.
He made his first career start against Northwestern, completing 34 of 50 passes for 271 yards. In 2020, he was the starter but suffered a season-ending injury. In 2021, he was the backup to Jack Plummer but eventually took over as the starter. O’Connell entered the 2023 NFL Draft after the 2022 season.
He was drafted by the Las Vegas Raiders in the fourth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, made his first career start on October 1, 2023, replacing injured Jimmy Garoppolo. He played 24 of 39 for 238 yards and scored his first career rushing touchdown, but the Raiders lost 24-17. On November 1, 2023, he was named the starting quarterback for the rest of the season.
