Craig Kimbrel

is an American professional baseball pitcher who has played for various teams, including the Baltimore Orioles. He has been a nine-time All-Star, two-time Reliever of the Year, and a 2018 World Series champion.

Kimbrel set an MLB record for saves by a rookie in 2011, and led the National League in saves for four consecutive seasons. He became the youngest pitcher in MLB history to reach the 400 career save milestone in May 2023.

Ashley Holt Kimbrel is widely recognized as the wife of the Baltimore Orioles pitcher, Craig Kimbrel. Ashley is  a former Wallace State Cheerleader. She is renowned for being the wife of Craig Kimbrel, an established American baseball pitcher.  

Holt's husband Kimbrel was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of the 2008 MLB Draft. He quickly rose through the ranks of the Braves' minor league system, showcasing his exceptional pitching skills. Kimbrel made his major league debut with the Braves in 2010 and immediately made an impact as a dominant closer.

During his time with the Braves, Kimbrel established himself as one of the premier closers in the league. He earned numerous accolades, including being named an All-Star multiple times and winning the National League Rookie of the Year award in 2011.

In 2015, Kimbrel was traded to the San Diego Padres. He continued to excel as a closer, displaying his signature high-velocity fastball and devastating breaking pitches. After his stint with the Padres, Kimbrel was traded to the Boston Red Sox in 2016.

During his time with the Red Sox, Kimbrel played a crucial role in their 2018 World Series championship run. He was known for his ability to shut down opposing hitters and secure important saves.

In 2019, Kimbrel signed with the Chicago Cubs as a free agent. He continued to be a force on the mound, contributing to the Cubs' bullpen.

The  Cubs traded pitcher Kimbrel to the Chicago White Sox in exchange for Nick Madrigal and Codi Heuer. Kimbrel had a 5.09 ERA in 24 regular season games and a 9.00 ERA in three playoff games for the White Sox.

 In 2022, he was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers in exchange for A. J. Pollock. He pitched in 63 games for the Dodgers, resulting in a 6–7 record, 3.75 ERA, and 22 saves. Kimbrel signed a one-year, $10 million contract with the Philadelphia Phillies in January 2023.  

He recorded his 400th career save against the Atlanta Braves in June, earning NL Reliever of the Month honors. In the 2023 National League Championship Series, Kimbrel was the losing pitcher in Games 3 and 4, becoming the first Phillies pitcher to lose back-to-back appearances in the playoffs since Mitch Williams in the 1993 World Series. He became a free agent after the season.
