Martyn Waghorn is a footballer who was born on January 23, 1990, in South Shields, England. He began his career at the age of eight, playing for Charlton Athletic, Sunderland, and Leicester City before joining the club in 2010.

Waghorn moved away from England in 2015, joined Rangers, and then came back in 2017 to clinch a contract with Coventry City.

Waghorn played his first game for the team against Manchester United in 2007. He joined Sunderland in February 2008 on a two-and-a-half-year contract, although he didn't play until the 2008–09 season against Chelsea.

After that, in September 2013, he signed a three-month loan with Millwall, where he scored his first goal against Derby County. He signed a two-year contract with Ipswich Town in 2017 and scored the game-winning goal in a 2-1 triumph against Barnsley.

In 2014, he joined Wigan Athletic on loan until the end of the season. Waghorn scored his first senior hat-trick in a 4–0 win over Greenock Morton on September 27, 2015, making him the leading goal scorer in the league.

 He received the Scottish Championship Player of the Month Award for September and scored two goals in a 4–0 victory against Alloa Athletic on November 7, 2015.

In 2015, Waghorn signed a three-year deal with Rangers, scoring a double on his debut and netting twice in a 5–1 defeat of Queen of the South.
