Veteran musician Reginald Yaw Asante Osei, also known as , has urged Ghanaians to put waakye above Jollof rice.

He said it would be wiser to hold Ghanaian Waakye in high regard rather than argue with Nigeria over Jollof, which is Senegal's property.

“Whilst we are angry fighting with Nigeria over whose Jollof is best, meanwhile Jollof doesn't belong to us and it comes from Senegal,” he stated on Cape Coast's Property FM monitored by Dklassgh.Com

“Once again our own food which belongs to us which is waakye has been neglected and we're rather fighting others for what belongs to someone else.

“So all these while, we're championing Jollof but we've forgotten that it's from Senegal instead of prioritizing waakye which comes from Ghana.

When you look at waakye's features and special effects that surround it and you compare it to Jollof, you'll realize Jollof is nowhere near waakye,” he said during an interview with Amansan Krakye.
