Afua Asantewaa’s attempt to complete a 130-hour singing marathon has finally received an update from Guinness World Records, after more than four weeks.
According to the update, Afua Asantewaa Aduonum’s disqualification was brought about by some irregularities in her rest periods.
Online, the decision caused a furore as many fans thought Afua Asantewaa had withheld her results.

Afua Asantewaa revealed in a recent media appearance with GH One TV that she had misplaced her log-in credentials and, as a result, had not viewed the official records pertaining to her disqualification.
According to Shatta Wale, Ghanaians criticising Afua Asantewaa have been unappreciative of her attempt, but he and his fans would take a different route.
In a new Facebook post by Shatta Wale, he said;
“Some Ghanaians won’t appreciate you but Shatta wale and his shatta movement fans say Ayekoo .God said I should tell you ,you are the YAA ASANTEWAA OF OUR TIME . Go girl and forget some lazy Ghanaians.”
