Following a security violation, Accra Hearts of Oak was punished by the Ghana Football Association’s (GFA) Disciplinary Committee.
The violation occurred on March 8, 2025, during their Ghana Premier League (GPL) matchup with Young Apostles FC.
On Tuesday, March 25, the GFA declared that GHS 10,000 would be banned for the rest of the season unless the Phobians paid GHS 20,000.
The incident happened at the University of Ghana Stadium in Legon during the team’s 2-0 victory over the recently promoted team because they let unaffiliated people—specifically, fans—into the safety area.
Following a one-month ban for the stabbing of an Asante Kotoko supporter, the league had just begun play when the violation occurred.
The Accra-based team disapproved of the GFA’s announcement of upgraded matchday procedures before the league’s reopening, which were supposedly meant to strengthen already-existing procedures.
Additionally, Hearts has received a warning that “any further misconduct will attract severe sanctions.”
