Bishop Daniel Obinim has said he had lost interest in his marriage to Florence but continued staying in it because she was the mother of his children.
Obinim made the comments while speaking about the state of his marriage in a leaked audio shared online.
“I was no longer interested in the marriage, but I was forcing myself to be in it because you are the mother of my children,” he said.
He also pointed to issues he said had affected the relationship, including household responsibilities.
“How many times do you cook for me in seven days of the week? You don’t cook for me because it’s your sister, Comfort, who cooks for me,” Obinim said.
He also asked whether Florence had ever washed his clothes and bedsheets and accused her of not relating to him as a wife.
“Have you washed my clothes and bedsheets before? Do you even talk to me as a wife?” he asked.
Obinim added that the length of their marriage was another reason he had continued to stay despite having lost interest.
