Following Adwoa Smart's appeal for aid, Ghanaian actress has joined her voice to the issues experienced by movie actresses and artists in the Ghanaian creative business due to poor compensation.

It's becoming more common to see and hear actors and musicians who have toiled in the creative sector for decades pleading for aid in their later years to pay rent, hospital bills, and other expenses.

Psalm Adjetefio, also known as TT in the renowned taxi driver series, came out appealing for help to pay his rent on time, and happily, for him, he received more than he asked for as Ghanaians rallied to his rescue beyond his expectations.

, who is still relatively young and active in the business, finds it upsetting and depressing to see such icons reduced to beggars.

“Artistes give so much of themselves to the world and don't often get enough back. Through their art they comfort us, make us laugh, take us through heartbreak and difficult times; they share so much of themselves with us…And they don't stop because it is who they are , what they are called to do and what gives them fulfilment, even to their own detriment. It is so heartbreaking sometimes and not many will understand this,” the actress wrote on her Instagram.
