“To The Government Of Ghana And Jamaica, We Need A Straight Flight From Jamaica To Ghana” – Popcaan Pleads
Popcaan has asked the governments of Jamaica and Ghana, led by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, to establish a direct flight between the two countries.
Andre Hugh Sutherland, better known by his stage name Popcaan, owns a property in Ghana that he purchased for $5.5 million in 2020.
The artiste's desire to settle in Ghana is thought to be motivated by the government's “Beyond the Return” initiative, which aims to encourage Africans in the diaspora to invest in the nation in order to improve it.
The Jamaican spent his Christmas vacation in Ghana, where he spent $100,000 at the Gatsby Gala Night, an upscale party hosted by wealthy Nana Kwame Bediako and attended by many affluent individuals from the entertainment industry.
Popcaan, who has endeared himself to Ghana over the years, has promised to release his next album here.
“Happy new year everyone, to the government of Ghana and Jamaica, we need a straight flight from Jamaica to Ghana!!! Make it happen please, thanks in advance”, he tweeted.
