Last day for the biggest night of Ghanaian music, and people are still contemplating who to crown the artist of the year.
When the nominees list was released, Kweku Smoke, who had the street, was predicted by most people to win until King Promise, Stonebwoy, and King Paluta brought in PRs, which rendered Kweku Smoke’s campaign almost useless.
Since it has been a PR game now, King Paluta’s PR seems to be off, and Stonebowy and King Promise are now loud, with King Promise leading the race.
This has prompted DJ Slim, who is an academy board member, to look into the effort being put in by artists who are really putting in effort and cherish the awards scheme.
In his view, since it’s a voting award scheme, it must be campaigned for, and those who campaign should be the ones to be added because they’ve shown how big the award scheme is to them.
