Taking royalties from my old songs feels like sin – Evangelist Yaw Siki

Evangelist Yaw Siki has made it clear that he no longer collects royalties from his old songs, stating that doing so feels sinful and affects him spiritually.
During an interview on Angel FM in Kumasi, the former hiplife artiste explained that this decision comes from his Christian beliefs and personal change.
“I will not take any royalties from my old songs because it feels like a sin against God,” he said.
He mentioned that his past songs are still managed by former collaborators, including producer Q-Beats and his previous management team, but stressed that he does not want to gain financially from them.
To support his point, he said benefiting from something you have already rejected still ties you to it.
“If you stop doing something wrong but still benefit from it, you are still part of it and will be judged for it,” he explained.
Evangelist Yaw Siki added that, in his view, continuing to earn from such work would amount to indirectly supporting practices he has now turned away from.
