“I didn’t know yfm was PR machine for Davido” – Ayigbe Edem
Denning Edem Hotor, also known as Edem, is a Ghanaian rapper who is dissatisfied with Accra-based urban radio station YFM.
On Wednesday, November 17, 2021, the official YFM handle highlighted Edem in a tweet, informing him of a request from Nigerian pop musician, Davido.
Davido requested that Edem, as well as other Ghanaian performers such as Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Darkovibes, and Medikal, send him money in order for his Rolls Royce to be cleared from the port.
However, when YFM reposted Davido's request and tagged him, Edem was not amused by the radio station.
He feels that when he debuted his new album, the radio station did not tweet it, but rather shared what Davido stated in order to gain clout.
“U no post ‘Woss' as we drop am deez one go catch clout so U post.Smh at u ppl,” Edem retweeted.
A fan then told Edem to send the money to Davido and deal with the problem later.
However, Edem claimed that he responded to Davido's Instagram post and did not understand why YFM would tag him again after ignoring his song.
He inquires as to whether YFM is not acting as a public relations firm for the Nigerian music sensation.
“I was tagged on ig..I responded..I didn't know yfm was PR machine for Davido..” Edem replied a critic on Twitter.
