Australian motorcyclist Anthony Gobert, popularly referred to as “The Go Show,” was a highly successful road racer in the late 1990s. At the age of 19, he broke the record held by Yuichi Takeda, who was 18 at Sugo in 1996, to become the youngest World Superbike race winner ever.

Gobert began his career as a successful motocross racer, winning national classes in Australia before moving to road racing and winning the Australian domestic superbike championship. In 1995, he became team leader for Muzzy Kawasaki and finished 4th overall. In 1996, he finished 8th with 3 wins and 3 other podiums.

In 1998 and 1999, Gobert competed in the AMA Superbike Championship on a Vance & Hines Ducati, with some success, including a win as a WSBK wildcard at Laguna Seca. In 2000, he returned to WSBK on a Bimota SB8R, winning a wet race at Phillip Island but folding due to lack of financial backing. Bimota named the SB8K Gobert bike after him.

In 2001, Gobert returned to the AMA championship with Yamaha, racing the YZF R7 in the superbike class and the YZF R6 in the supersport class. He briefly dalliance with Ducati in 2003 and participated in the Supersport World Championship in 2006.

Gobert's life was overshadowed by the pervasive influence of addiction, and his journey from motocross champion to WorldSBK wildcard struggles and eventual disappearance from public life revealed the highs and lows of his remarkable story.
