Dwight Ramos, a Filipino-American basketball player, is currently playing for Levanga Hokkaido in the Japanese League.

Born on September 2, 1998, Ramos began his career playing for Walnut High School’s Mustangs before being courted by Ateneo de Manila University’s Blue Eagles in the Philippines.

Despite being courted by Ateneo, Ramos chose to pursue his college basketball career in the United States. He played for the Cal State Fullerton Titans basketball team and later transferred to California State Polytechnic University in Pomona.

Ramos traveled back to the Philippines to join the Ateneo Blue Eagles in the UAAP, where he immediately showed his talent in the Philippine Collegiate Champions League. However, his debut was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite opportunities to enter the PBA draft, Ramos decided to continue his collegiate career alongside his brother.

Later on, Ramos made a significant decision by foregoing his remaining eligibility in the UAAP to pursue a professional opportunity with the Toyama Grouses in the Japanese B.League. After a successful season with Toyama, Ramos continued his journey in the B.League with Levanga Hokkaido, where he has become a key player.

Ramos has also represented the Philippines in international competitions, including being included in the national team roster for the 2023 FIBA World Cup. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Ramos has remained committed to representing his homeland and inspiring aspiring basketball players both at home and abroad.
