AJ Finley, born on September 14, 2001, was raised in Mobile, Alabama, and attended St. Paul’s Episcopal School. He chose Ole Miss for his collegiate football career in 2018 and played at the University of Mississippi. Finley played four years at Ole Miss, recording 244 tackles, 8.5 of which were for loss, eight interceptions, 13 pass deflections, four fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles, and one score.
His best college season was his third, with 90 tackles, one for a loss, three interceptions, one of which he returned for a score, four pass deflections, and a forced fumble. He was chosen to the AP All-Southeastern Conference (SEC) second team for his efforts.
In 2022, Finley had a strong fourth year with 76 tackles, 3.5 of them for a loss, two interceptions, two pass deflections, and a forced fumble. He declared for the NFL Draft at the end of the 2022 season and is currently playing safety for the Los Angeles Chargers. Finley signed with the Chargers as an undrafted free agent after not being selected in the 2023 NFL Draft.
