English actress Kara Tointon is well-known for her parts in The Sound of Music Live, Strictly Come Dancing, and the BBC soap drama EastEnders. She was identified as having dyslexia at the age of seven. Ken and Carol Tointon welcomed her into the world on August 5, 1983. At eleven years old, she started her performing career as a paid professional child dancer for the pantomime Snow White at the Cliffs Pavilion. She debuted on television in 1994 as Sonia Fowler’s classmate on EastEnders.
Tointon appeared in Channel 4’s Teachers series in 2001 and served as a presenter on BBC’s Curriculum Bites in 2002. In 2018, she sang Rock With Rudolph, an original Christmas song written and produced by Jack Corbyn and Grahame, at Metropolis Studios among 26 other celebrities. The song was made available digitally via the independent record label Saga Entertainment in support of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
