Ghanaian TV station United Television (UTV) is facing backlash for ignoring a major story tied to one of their presenters.
This week, the buzz centered around MzGee, the host of UTV’s United Showbiz.
The public believed she was married, became pregnant, and went to the U.S. to have her baby, taking extended leave from her job.
MzGee shocked everyone by revealing that she is no longer married and that her marriage ended three years ago.
She also disclosed that her child’s father is not her husband, but she chose not to reveal his identity.
During the latest episode of United Showbiz, many Ghanaians were upset because the show didn’t discuss the MzGee story, despite it being the biggest entertainment topic.
People online accused UTV of hypocrisy, suggesting they would have given the story more attention if it involved a different celebrity not employed by UTV.
