Ghanaian musician Jah Phinga has announced an indefinite break from music, citing personal challenges and a lack of adequate support within the industry.
In an emotional statement titled “GOODBYE TO MUSIC FOR NOW,” the artiste reflected on his journey, describing years of sacrifice, determination, and perseverance despite facing numerous obstacles.
According to Jah Phinga, his music career has largely been driven by self-belief and passion rather than strong external support, mentorship, or industry backing.
“I’ve been discouraged, doubted, mocked, called a joke in my early years as an artist,” he wrote.
The musician revealed that he often had to navigate the industry on his own while dealing with rejection, criticism, and moments of isolation.
Despite the challenges, Jah Phinga expressed gratitude to fans who supported his work over the years and thanked God for the progress he has made throughout his career.
However, he said the time has come for him to step away from music and focus on rebuilding himself mentally while seeking stronger financial and professional support.
“Unfortunately I have to end it all here for now. I have to step away from music for some time,” he stated.
The artiste added that his future in music remains uncertain and will depend on whether he receives the strength, resources, and support needed to continue.
“I pray I get the strength mentally, support financially, and the right resources… or I will just have to give it all up for good,” he wrote.
Jah Phinga concluded his message by thanking fans for standing by him throughout his journey and leaving open the possibility of a return in the future.
