The son of Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner, formerly known as Wolf, will now go by the moniker Aire.
The couple asked for their child to be named Aire Webster, and the judge granted their request, according to court documents obtained by TMZ. Only Jenner appeared virtually in court on Friday, September 29, and the petition was allowed because Scott didn’t object to the change.
Jenner has said that Aire is a “Hebrew name” and translates to “Lion of God,” though some Jewish educators and journalists disagree.
The celebrity parents have expressed “regret” for naming their second child Wolf. Aire Webster was born in February 2022. Not even two months later, Jenner said that Wolf wouldn’t be their son’s name anymore, as she and Travis didn’t feel it suited him.
“FYI OUR SONS NAME ISN’T WOLF ANYMORE. WE JUST DIDN’T REALLY FEEL LIKE IT WAS HIM. JUST WANTED TO SHARE BECAUSE I KEEP SEEING WOLF EVERYWHERE,” she wrote on her Instagram Story.
Jenner initially shared their son’s new name on Instagram in January. The picture included a mother-son photo and the word “AIRE” in the description. The pair split up in the same month.
According to a source close to the Cactus Jack musician, Jenner and their daughter Stormi were meant to travel to Aspen with Justin Bieber, Hailey Bieber, and Stacey Karanikolau for the holiday season instead of doing so. Travis Scott didn’t attend.
In December 2022, at La Flame’s performance at Art Basel Miami, Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner made their final joint appearance in front of the public before their supposed breakup.
The news of their split followed cheating rumors Travis Scott was battling last year in October when he was linked to a purported old flame during a video shoot. The “Sicko Mode” lyricist was spotted with rumored ex-girlfriend Rojean Kar, and after the images began making the rounds online, he addressed the situation in a lengthy Instagram post.
“It’s a lot of weird shit going on,” he began. “An uninvited person was sneaking photos on what was supposed to be a closed set while I was directing a video.
“I’m saying this for the last time,” he continued.
“I don’t know this person. I’ve never been with this person. So please, stop with the continuous cyber games and the fictional storytelling.
”
